Hokkaido Koku (HKK) is a subsidiary of the Tessier-Ashpool Corporation (TAC), which also owns Chiba City Liner. TAC holds 80% of HKK shares and CHB owns another 10%.
Hokkaido Koku was established to serves airports on Japan's northern island of Hokkaido. It is based out of Sapporo's New Chitose Airport (CTS), from which flights leave to major Japanese cities and to smaller airports on Hokkaido Island. Other off-island flights originate from Sapporo Okadama and Hakodate airports. HKK also runs one daily return trip to Seoul Incheon.
Hokkaido Koku was established with a modest $3.5 and mainly operates Embraer ERJ aircraft. Additionally one refitted Cessna Grand Caravan is used to run the feeder routes between smaller airports and CTS. HKK recently added a Dash-8 to its fleet as part of a move to better quality planes. Improving the fleet is the medium-term goal for HKK as it will improve the connection opportunities through CTS.
Currently Hokkaido Koku works closely with Chiba City Liner and has an interlining contract with Hankook Airline.
